Belarusian shot putter lost her Olympic gold medal for usage of metenolone

Nadzeya Ostapchuk, a Belarusian shot putter, won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. But she was stripped of the medal because she tested positive for the steroid metenolone (methenolone). She was asked to provide two samples. The substance metenolone presented in both urine samples.
If you read steroid scandals, you must know that professional sportspersons and bodybuilders are usually caught applying other steroids and/or performance-enhancing drugs. But as for Nadzeya Ostapchuk, she tested positive for metenolone. It is strange, according to statements of anti-doping officers. What does this forbidden medication represent? Why don’t sportspersons ordinarily take this preparation for enhancement of performance?
Metenolone is an anabolic steroid. It possesses weak androgenic features. It works like testosterone, enhancing muscle mass and adding strength.

Metenolone (Methenolone) causes amazing effects, when it is used by sportspersons during their trainings. It is not taken during competitions. It doesn’t work, if it is applied only on the day of a competition.

Adverse results of Metenolone (Methenolone) depend on doses which are used. They are following: fluid retention, hypercalcaemia, bone growth, excessive hair growth on the body, acne, hair loss, menstrual problems, increased sex drive, etc.
Thus, if you see a female athlete who has deep voice and hirsutism, you may suspect her of steroid use. Actually, it is wrong because these problems may occur also in those females that don’t administer any steroids. But sometimes these effects demonstrate that certain female athletes use preparations which have androgenic nature.
