Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, shared his thoughts about testing of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping among sportspersons.
Conte has noticed that it is unlikely that the 2012 Summer Olympics would be free from intake of steroids and other banned medicines. The founder of BALCO confirmed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing program had different lacks. Thus, consumers of steroids were also chosen to take part in the 2012 Olympic Games.
The founder of BALCO doesn’t believe that usage of forbidden products has diminished. He doesn’t agree with persons who claim that decreased performance in different sports is a proof that steroids and other related drugs are almost excluded from sports.
The founder of BALCO notes that steroids are widely used now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies led to adoption of athletes. Thus, athletes don’t apply as increased measures as have been taken before. Nonetheless, usage of steroids and other doping medications continues to be a problem.
Conte is sure that sportspersons don’t apply such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of taking such medicines, athletes take the steroid testosterone which is claimed to be the grandfather of all steroids. Victor Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is purchasable in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely administered by sportspersons. Moreover, not very enhanced measures of testosterone are required in order to produce great results. This steroid is popular among professional baseball players.
Conte criticizes anti-doping policy. He claims that anti-doping agencies have essential ambiguities. Even a truck can go through loopholes that are in doping rules, according to the founder of BALCO.
