Operation Gilde led to arrests of certain persons, including high-qualified coaches


Norwegian police have busted a large doping ring. More than 10 persons related to illicit operations were arrested. Six persons were sentenced to imprisonment.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was located in Trondheim. DN published own investigation connected with illicit sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police officers investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is established in Trondheim. It administrates illicit distribution of doping drugs and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Certain individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Investigators suppose that certain persons are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. He coached famous sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is believed that Eilertsen and several other individuals have provided dangerous doping medications to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
Circa 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation has not been finished, police officers announce nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Numerous computers and some documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their links with doping drugs. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most prominent gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that obtained prizes. He coached athletes who attended to different sports. He is claimed to be a high-qualified nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping medicines and money laundering.
