What should we do to keep American youth from steroid use?

American youth are fans of their sports stars. They have already a lot of such idols from the days of the baseball players Babe Ruth and Shoeless Joe Jackson till the stars of nowadays: the football player Peyton Manning and the baseball player Derek Jeter. Fans observe and repeat their every move.
Isn’t it dangerous to idolize sports stars of nowadays? It may be risky. Today sports heroes earn millions of dollars because of steroid use. Although the NFL and the MLB fight against usage of controlled substances, the war seems to be unsuccessful. Usage of steroids like cancer destroys sports. However American youth are taught about severe unwanted results of these preparations, the results are not satisfactory.
It is believed that youth are suppressed to administrate steroids. They put efforts to meet the required criteria of college admission; they adore current professional sportspeople. The all these aspects induce taking steroids.
Of course, all parents want their children to have success. If children go info sports, their parents want them to compete successfully and to continue to play professionally. Children understand that it is difficult to do it. Which are the results? The pressure influences greatly on American youth.  Over 10 % of teenagers feel that they need to cheat in order to be successful. College admission levels have dropped because of budget cuts. The Recovery Place supposes that it may cause the situation, when high school students will look for other ways to be able to stand out among crowds. Doping may seem for teenagers to be the best alternative mean.
American youth know that many professional sportspeople have succeeded differently. Some of them did it due to their talents and intensive trainings; others took steroids and other related medications. If American youth follow those who dope, which will be the consequences?
Prolonged intake of steroids can lead to addiction to these products.  Moreover, users of steroids may suffer from such undesirable results, as liver tumors, cancer, hypertension, icterus, kidney disorders and bad cholesterol. These unwanted reactions are considered to be dangerous; they may threaten to life.
Of course, parents don’t desire to see their children ill. They desire their children to reach goals because devotion to sports and intensive workouts. But it is difficult to do it because many others cheat, taking steroids. Now it is time to do everything to push out steroids. These medicines shouldn’t disturb to make real our dreams.
